What's the Soup (whatsthesoup.net) is live! It's an online directory of restaurant listings to help people find soup varieties in their local area, as well as a food blog. You might feel hungry after spending time on the site!

The site is updated by many people. In addition to the site owners, Ed and Heather, several restaurant owners and bloggers also have their own user accounts.
The site was originally built in WordPress, but I rebuilt it in Drupal 6, in order to be more flexible and powerful as the site grows. For the overall look and feel, I used Acquia Marina as a base theme and reused much of the design from the WP version of What's the Soup. I focused on improving the site and the backend UX during the implementation phase. I was responsible for project management, development, theming and training.
But I didn't do it all myself. I am deeply indebted to Jake Strawn (aka himerus) for his generosity with his time and Drupal expertise. Jake is very knowledgeable about Drupal design and development, and was instrumental in implementing the Google maps integration, the location module, in some of the wackiest Views ever.
And a huge hats off to Ed and Heather who focused on migrating the content by hand. Migrating the content using the power of technology would have been possible, but impossible to predict the outcome, based on the budget and expertise at the time.
Jake and I presented a short case study on this project at Drupalcamp Montréal. I will write up a more detailed case study in my portfolio as time permits.
Overall, the clients and I are extremely pleased with What's the Soup. New content is being added daily. New features and improvements will also appear on the site periodically.
P.S. What's the Soup is my first *completed* Drupal site! (I don't count the ones that are still in various stages of development) If you have any comments or suggestions for the site, I'd love to hear them.
